I have a HP Pavillion and I don't know how but the keyboard seems to have locked. I cannot get into my laptop because it had been sleeping and now that the keyboard is locked I can't put in my password. The mouse still works but the keyboard doesn't. How can I fix it, being locked out of my laptop, as I am?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion series laptop. I read that the keyboard is no longer working. The touchpad seems to work fine though.
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Please let me know the exact laptop model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
- Did any software changes or updates happen on the laptop?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- You may power off the laptop by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds.
- Restart the laptop and check if the keyboard works well.
- If the keyboard still does not work then try connecting an external USB keyboard (if available) and login to the laptop.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes. Cheers! 🙂
