I have an MSI MS-7525 Ver 1.0 motherboard. I wanted to know what version of PCI-E x16 slot it has.

I wanted to insert a Graphics card and it needs a PCI-E x16 2.1 slot so just wanted to know whether it supports or not.

I got the sapphire radeon hd 5450 (ATI radeon hd 5450) graphic card today and it worked perfectly on MSI MS-7525 motherboard ver 1.0, it uses PCI-E x16 1.1 version. Just letting Know... 🙂

It was difficult to find anything on that board.  I did find this:

http://soggi.eu/motherboards/msi-oem/MS-7525-VER-1.0-Boston-GL6.htm#spec

you will notice in the specs it is stated as "Supports PCI Express (PCIe 1.1)"

Whether the card in question must have a 2.1 or higher - if that is an absolute, then I would not count on the card working on this motherboard.

But in this link : http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/MSI/MSI_MS-7525/1469 it says PCI-E x16 2.0 Which one should I believe?

You are correct, it does state that.  The reason I said this "Whether the card in question must have a 2.1 or higher - if that is an absolute, then I would not count on the card working on this motherboard."

I suppose the reason that came up is because a graphics card said it had to have a PCI-E x16 2.1 slot.  If that is an explicit requirement, then even the PCI-E x16 2.0 will not work.
