Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a second hand HP 2000 Laptop, which I've done my best to understand and download the updates needed for it to function. I think I downloaded Windows 10 for the operating program. I have two sites on this laptop I use often, which now have a magnified screen when opening up. I can access these sites on an android with the normal page set up, but when on this laptop, I'm viewing everything magnified and it looses most of the information. I really need to figure out how to reverse this magnification on the two sites and figure out how it happened in the first place. I am working on a bad habit of writing information down with a notebook on the keyboard. I'm guessing that was my first mistake. I've tried logging out of said sites, reapplying a new web address, and other things which I had to reverse their actions before moving on. Working with any Windows program is very new to me. I've used Ubuntu with Lenox and Firefox for the past 10 years, so this is all very unfamiliar to me. Any suggestions to assist in removing this magnification would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @TBrandel,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It sounds frustrating to have those websites appear magnified, especially when they’re displaying normally on your other device. Let's work together to get this resolved so you can use the sites comfortably.

  • Have you noticed if other websites or applications are also magnified, or is it only happening on those two specific sites?
  • Are you using a particular web browser on this laptop, like Chrome or Edge, and is it the same one you use on your Android device?
  • Do you know if the laptop's screen resolution settings were adjusted recently?

Let's try these steps.

Reset Zoom Level in the Browser:

  • Open one of the affected websites.
  • Hold down the Ctrl key and press 0 (zero) to reset the zoom level to 100%.
  • Alternatively, hold Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel up or down to adjust the zoom.

Check Browser-Specific Zoom Settings:

  • In your browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge), click the three-dot menu at the top right, then look for Zoom settings. Set it to 100% if it’s higher.
  • For some sites, browsers can remember custom zoom levels, so manually setting it to 100% should correct it for those pages.

Adjust Windows Display Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display.
  • Look for the Scale and layout section and ensure that scaling is set to 100%. If it’s set higher, it could be magnifying content across your system, including websites.

Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:

  • Open your browser’s settings and find Privacy and Security (usually in Settings).
  • Clear the cache and cookies, as sometimes corrupted cache data can cause display issues on certain sites.

Test in a Different Browser:

  • If you’re currently using Chrome, try opening the sites in Edge, or vice versa. This will help identify if the issue is browser-specific or system-wide.

Let me know if any of these steps help bring the display back to normal.

Keep me posted for further assistance
