Hi @Surya72

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s definitely confusing—especially when your device says it’s connected, but browsers like Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome still act like they’re offline. Let’s walk through a few steps to help get things back online:

🌐 Step 1: Run the Internet Connections Troubleshooter

  1. Press Windows + S, type Find and fix network problems, and press Enter.
  2. Follow the prompts to let Windows detect and fix any issues.

🔄 Step 2: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
  2. Click Network reset, then Reset now.
  3. Restart your PC when prompted.

This clears out any misconfigured settings that might be blocking your browsers.

🧹 Step 3: Clear DNS Cache

  1. Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Enter.
  2. In the Command Prompt, type:ipconfig /flushdns
  3. Press Enter and wait for confirmation.

⚙️ Step 4: Check Proxy Settings

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
  2. Make sure Automatically detect settings is turned on.
  3. Turn off any manual proxy settings if enabled.

🧪 Step 5: Try a Different DNS Server

  1. Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
  2. Right-click your active connection > Properties.
  3. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Properties.
  4. Choose Use the following DNS server addresses and enter:
    • Preferred: 8.8.8.8
    • Alternate: 8.8.4.4

These are Google’s public DNS servers and can help bypass DNS-related issues.

If none of these steps help, let me know what kind of connection you're using (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), and I can tailor the next steps. We’ll get this sorted together!
