Hi,
I just had to reinstall windows 10 pro (64-bit) version, here's my computer information: Product Name: HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF PC Product # VS742UA#ABA . In device manager it's now showing two unknown devices because of missing drivers. The devices are (1) PCI Serial Port & (2) PCI Simple Communications Controller, where can I obtain the drivers for these devices ? I was actually hoping they might show up as optional updates in the windows update area in settings, but at least so far they haven't.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
David

Hi:
You need these drivers for those devices...
PCI Simple Comms:
Intel Active Client Manager HECI Device Driver:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45411.exe
PCI Serial Port:
Intel AMT LMS_SOL for AMT 5.xx:

Hi Paul,
I have another question concerning the driver's that I installed, I don't have any 'unknown devices' showing now in device manager, but I do have two different item's showing in the control panel / programs & features area. (1) Intel Management Engine Interface (2) Intel Active Management Technology, I might be incorrect about this..but I'm thinking that if I uninstall either one of these item's I would probably once again have a unknown device item in device manager. I thought I'd get your opinion if it's okay.

Hi, David:
You are correct.
The PCI Simple communications controller is what Windows names the Intel Management Engine Interface when it does not have a driver installed and the PCI Serial Port is what Windows names the Intel Active Management Technology - SOL when the driver is not installed.

Paul,
Even though I'm a pretty tech oriented type of guy, my motto is if I'm not sure about something it's much better in the long run to get some advice from an expert (You Of Course) !! I was actually trying to find out just what software came with my computer when it was new, but unless I missed it that information is rather hard to find. I looked on this page: but it didn't actually break everything down, it was just a general listing.

Hi, David:
I find that the HP Quickspecs for their business PC's provide the most detailed information available.
Here is the link to the HP Quickspecs for the HP 6000 Pro model series...
