Hi. After downloading (From the HP website) and applying the Windows 7 Pro x64 recovery USB for the PC, I still have a missing PCI Simple Communications Controller Driver. Googled loads and trawled the HP drivers site but still unable to resolve.

The Hardware IDs are as follows:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13A&SUBSYS_8062103C&REV_31
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13A&SUBSYS_8062103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13A&CC_078000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13A&CC_0780

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Hi:

You need this driver for that device...

This package provides the Intel Management Engine Components Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75001-75500/sp75478.exe

Here is a partial copy and paste of the above driver's setup information file which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted.

[Intel.ntamd64.6.1]
; DisplayName               Section           DeviceId
%TEE_DeviceDesc%=TEE_DDI_x64, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A

That worked great (After it told me to install another MS KB first)

Could you tell me, rather than me googling the hardware ID's, is there another way I can identify drivers from the hardware ID like you did please?

Hi:

Unfortunately, that is the only way I know of to do it.

I googled the hardware ID for the device you posted which indicated the device was part of the Intel Management Engine Interface component.

I have been doing this a long time, so I know most of the ID's out there, but on these new models, I still have to google to figure them out.
