HP OMNI 27
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a HP OMNI 27 for my wife to have a No-No-nonsense PC for in the living room. After installing windows 10;  Bluetooth doesn't work, as the camera and the sound. I have fixed the sound exploring the internet, but the two remain. I have tried all the examples I could find on the net. No show until now. Hope somebody can help.

I believe it has something to do with drivers that only work with windows 7, not with 10. But that doesn't make sense to me.

Hi:

I'm surprised that W10 did not automatically install the USB controllers for your PC.

Have you been running it long enough for Windows update to install the drivers for that chipset?

The driver updates would be listed under the optional updates in the Windows update utility.

I have a HP 8200 Elite CMT with the Intel series 6 chipset and Windows update installed a bunch of drivers for the motherboard, although the USB controllers were installed from the get-go.

The webcam may not work because it is USB powered, and if the USB controllers aren't installed, then it would be natural for the webcam not to work.

If Windows update did not install any drivers for you, then see if installing this chipset driver for Windows 8 works.

It takes a while for the install screen to show up, so be patient...

What model wifi adapter does the PC have?

It is probably a combination Wifi/Bluetooth adapter, and since that PC is around 10 years old, many of those older Wifi/Bluetooth cards don't work on W10--especially the Bluetooth.

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much responding so quickly. I tried it with the link you gave me but no show.

When I try to update the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller I get the message:

Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install:

Intel(R) 6 series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C2D

The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. Contact you hardware vendor

Any solution?

Regards,

Laurent

You're very welcome, Laurent.

Unfortunately, I don't know why W10 did not install the USB controller drivers for your PC.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to right click on the device, select uninstall and if you have an option to check the uninstall driver box, check that too.

Then restart the PC, and maybe W10 will install the USB controllers like it should have in the first place.
