My Blu Ray burner still works fine for DVDs but won't burn Blu Rays. I use TMPGE Authoring Works 6. It will get to the end of processing the video, then ask me if I want to launch the disc burner (odd, it usually does that automatically). It then tries to do something for a second or two, then tells me I have error 00000f7c. I tried creating an ISO disc image and burning that using the Windows software and got pretty much the same result. It tells me I have the ISO file ready to burn, but won't let me do it.

Does it sound like I need a new disc burner? I came to this site hoping to update the drivers for my burner, hp bd b dh8b2lh , but this site doesn't acknowledge that as actually being a real thing.

Any ideas?

Multi-format DVD devices, ones that support regular DVDs and BR disks, have two different laser systems -- one for each of the two types of disks, and it is possible for each of them to fail independently.

Sounds like your BR laser has failed and if that is the case, you would need to replace the drive.
