Hi @Mounika_Nelluri, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like your HP laptop’s camera is not working and is only showing a black screen with the message "Front-facing camera." Since you've already tried updating the drivers, let's go through some additional troubleshooting steps:

Check Privacy Settings

  1. Press Win + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & security > Camera.
  3. Make sure Camera access is turned On.
  4. Scroll down and ensure that Allow apps to access your camera is enabled.
  5. If you're using a specific app, make sure it is listed under Let desktop apps access your camera.

Check Device Manager

  1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Right-click on your camera and select Disable device. Wait a few seconds, then right-click again and select Enable device.
  4. If the camera is still black, right-click and select Uninstall device.
  5. Restart your PC, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.

Check if Another App is Using the Camera

  1. Close all apps that may be using the camera (Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc.).
  2. Open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and end any processes related to the camera.
  3. Try opening the Camera app again.

Try Using Another App

  1. Open Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Skype and check if the camera works.
  2. If the camera works in another app, reset the Camera app:
    • Win + I > Apps > Installed apps > Search for Camera.
    • Click Advanced options > Reset.

Check for Windows Updates

  1. Press Win + I and go to Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates and install any pending updates.
  3. Restart your PC after updating.

Try an External Camera

If nothing works, try connecting an external USB webcam to check if it's a hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
