My Computer is not showing CD/DVD Drive.

HP Recommended
Example: Pavilion 15 dk268tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I also checked the Device Management and there are no cd/dvd drives.

power off PC

unplug from wall ac

push power button 3 times to discharge all caps in the pc to make working on the PC , no damage to parts inside.

unplug all 3 ends of ODD (Cd/dvd) drive cables now, and reseat them.

lid back power back it does show up in Device manager.and disk manager.

if not bad cable or bad drive.

I can only assume the OS is not corrupted, and internet working so PnP can do its job.

make sure Sata ports not turned off in BIOS

try the DVD data cable in other SATA port.

try new data cable.

try some old cd drive in this pc, just laying loose and 2 cables, see if that works if does , DVD drive is bad.

testing is not hard. just do it.

also you can go in to BIOS and see if the DVD shows up in boot order, if not the driver or cable is bad.

no need for windows to that at all, just BIOS and DVD. even no HDD connected.

NO warranty answers by me.

Hello
sorry, @savvy2  no need to do a lot of manipulation, it's not magic
@Mohit_Soni  You have this model (this is what is mentioned i think error dk0268 not dk268 found )

 15-dk0268tx Product Specifications

in this case, all this would be useless, there is no dvd player

do not take the risk of taking it apart for nothing

Optical drive
Optical drive not included
