My HHD died along with the OS installed on it. I am assuming the drive is bad since none of the backup/recovery disks I have will recover the old system. Where can I get a copy of an OEMAct installation disk to load a new HDD from scratch? I would like to get a new disk and load it from scratch.

Hi:
The only place I know of where you can get a Vista recovery kit would be from this vendor at the link below...
Computer Surgeons - Recovery Kit NE464AV For HP Model Number a6767c

Hello
before paying anything
The recovery kit may not work if the HDD found does not have the same characteristics (especially in capacity)
You must always be able to read the product key which must be on the computer, for activation
You will then have to find an installation medium, exactly the same version of windows!
Install vista, then activate windows with the key
on the other hand, it will be necessary to find the necessary drivers then
this site can help!
Not far from $ 30 for an obsolete version of windows, it is a bit abused, knowing that the computer may not last very long.
