My son's HP All-In-One desktop is displaying the message-- ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed.
I can't seem to do anything else. I would like to restore it. There are no pictures or anything on it that needs to be salvaged I just want him to be able to use it again so I can have mine back.

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
First verify if the HDD has failed by running HP Diagnostics (Link).
Tap "Esc". Then select "F2'.
Run system tests.
You may have to replace the HDD if it has failed.
This site (Link) has Windows startup troubleshooting tips if the HDD is okay.
You can reinstall Windows if there is no need to backup data and the HDD is good.
Regards
