My HP ENVY 700qe desktop will not booth-up. Only showing the HP logo with no indication that it's trying to booth-up. I tried unplugging and plugging it back up, but it's still only showing the HP logo on the screen. Never had any problems with this desktop before. PLEASE HELP !!!!!

Hi @MGB70
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 700-230qe is stuck during the boot process.
Let’s try these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
🌟 Steps to Fix the Boot Issue:
🔌 Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the desktop and unplug it from the power source.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the power cable and try turning it on again.
⚙️ Access BIOS Settings:
- Restart the desktop and press the Esc or F10 key repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS menu.
- Check if the hard drive is detected and ensure the boot order is correct (the primary hard drive should be first).
🛠️ Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- While in the BIOS menu, look for an option to run hardware diagnostics (usually under the Diagnostics or Tools section).
- Perform a quick test to check for hardware issues like a failing hard drive or memory.
💾 Boot into Safe Mode:
- Restart the desktop and press F8 repeatedly during startup.
- Select Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options menu. If it boots successfully, the issue might be related to a recent update or driver.
🔄 Perform a System Restore:
- If you can access Safe Mode, go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore.
- Choose a restore point from before the issue started and follow the prompts.
📀 Use a Windows Installation Media:
- Create a bootable USB or DVD with Windows 8.1 installation files using another computer.
- Boot from the installation media and select Repair Your Computer.
- Use the Startup Repair option to fix boot-related issues.
🔋 Check for External Devices:
- Disconnect all external devices (e.g., USB drives, printers) and try booting again. Sometimes, peripherals can interfere with the boot process.
