My HP desktop won"t restart after a power outage.  I tried unplugging the cord, holding the power button for more that 15 seconds, plugged it back in and it still won't power up.

Greetings @PSGuy

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Sorry to see this.

A possible power surge when power is restored can sometimes damage sensitive components.

Have you verified the AC power outlet used to power the PC is okay?

Troubleshooting component failure requires replacement parts to find the bad component.

It is impossible to predict what component has failed.

You should have a local PC Tech take a look.

The Tech can swap in components to find the bad part. It could be costly for you to swap in components.

Maybe one of the peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboard, or any other external device connected to the PC) is damaged.

Or, maybe it's the power supply. You replace the power supply with no change.

Now, it could be the RAM, or the graphics card, or the WIFI card. You replace three components with no change.

Let's try a CPU. You replace the CPU with no change.

The only item left to replace is the MB.

Regards
