So, I tried to download some updates, no big deal right? wrong i suppose. I've had the same 4-6 updates *downloading* for about 3-4 weeks at this point. Ive tried resetting my PC entirely, cloud reinstalls, so on so forth. I am at a loss for what to do now, and I will be soon buying some upgrades for my PC for RAM and such

Hi @ChadM11
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for sharing that. It’s understandable to feel stuck when updates refuse to move forward despite all the effort you’ve already put in.
Let’s walk through a few targeted steps that can help resolve this persistent issue.
Steps to Resolve Stuck Windows Updates
1. Clear the Update Cache
This removes any corrupted files that may be blocking progress.
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Locate Windows Update, right-click it, and select Stop.
- Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete all contents inside.
- Return to services.msc, right-click Windows Update, and select Start.
2. Run the Update Troubleshooter
This built-in tool can detect and fix common update problems.
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Windows Update troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
3. Use the Windows Update Assistant
This tool can bypass stuck updates and install the latest version directly.
Visit the Windows 11 Update Assistant and follow the instructions.
4. Check for HP-Specific Drivers or Firmware
Sometimes system updates are blocked by pending device-specific updates.
You can find the latest drivers and firmware for your model on HP’s official support page:
HP TP01-3000i Software and Drivers
Preparing for RAM Upgrades
Your desktop supports up to 64GB DDR4-3200MHz across 2 DIMM slots. For best performance:
- Use non-ECC, unbuffered DIMMs.
- Install matched pairs if upgrading both slots.
- Brands like Crucial, Kingston, and Corsair are widely compatible.
Let me know how the update steps go, or if you’d like to prep for the RAM upgrade next.
