Hi @CMF-Tech
Welcome to the HP Forum.
What type of PC do you have?
Are you having a problem with some specific front and back ports or all front and back ports if you have a Desktop PC?
AIO PCs or Laptops would have different USB port locations and design specs.
This issue can have a number of causes depending on the scope of the problem.
- MB USB controller problem. Desktop MBs usually have two USB 2 controller chips; one for the back USB I/O and one for the front USB I/O. The board could also have separate USB 3 controllers for front and back USB I/O.
- Bad USB media, try a different USB device. Try USB devices in all USB ports.
- A bad USB port or MB USB controller.
- Front USB wiring problem.
- A USB driver problem in Device Manager.
- Maybe even Window's system file corruption
It is tough to say what is going on without more information.
