Hi @AB393,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP All-in-One PC is shutting down due to thermal issues, it means the system is overheating and triggering a safety shutdown to prevent hardware damage. Here's how to troubleshoot and fix it:

Step-by-Step Fixes

1. Clean the Vents and Fans

  • Power off and unplug the PC.
  • Use compressed air to blow out dust from the vents.
  • If you're comfortable opening the back panel, clean the internal fan and heatsink.

2. Check Fan Functionality

  • When you power on the PC, listen for the fan.
  • If it’s not spinning or is unusually loud, it may need replacement.

3. Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Go to HP Support and enter your PC model.
  • Download and install the latest:
    • BIOS update
    • Chipset drivers
    • Thermal management software (if available)

4. Monitor Temperatures

Use a tool like HWMonitor or Core Temp to check CPU/GPU temperatures. If idle temps are above 70°C or load temps exceed 90°C, there’s likely a cooling issue.

5. Reduce Background Load

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
  • End unnecessary processes that are using high CPU or memory.
  • Disable startup apps you don’t need.

6. Improve Airflow

  • Ensure the PC is in a well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid placing it near heat sources or in enclosed spaces.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
