Hi @Nsimbi ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and the cooling fan on your HP 250 15.6 inch G9 Notebook PC, here's how you can address both problems:

Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Malfunction

  1. Restart the Computer:

    • A simple restart can sometimes resolve TPM errors by resetting the module.
  2. Clear the TPM:

    • Warning: This will wipe all TPM-stored keys, affecting access to encrypted data.
    • Access "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Security" > "Device Security".
    • Click on "Security processor details" and then select "Clear TPM".
    • Follow any prompts and confirm actions in BIOS/UEFI if needed.
  3. Update BIOS and TPM Firmware:

  4. Remove and Re-add School Account:

    • Go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Access work or school".
    • Disconnect the school account and then add it back to see if this resolves access issues.

Cooling Fan Issues

  1. Clean the Vents:

    • Ensure the notebook is powered off and unplugged.
    • Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from the vents to improve airflow.
  2. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • Restart the laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI settings (usually F10 during startup).
    • Verify that the fan settings are correct or reset to defaults.
  3. Run HP Support Assistant:

    • Use HP Support Assistant to run diagnostics on the cooling system components.
  4. Check for Software Issues:

    • Ensure no applications are unnecessarily taxing the CPU, which could increase fan activity.
  5. Inspect the Fan:

    • If you're comfortable, open the laptop to inspect the fan for any visible obstructions or damage. If not, seek professional help.
  6. Enable Fan in Bios: Enabling "Fan always on while on ac adaptor"  will sometimes resolve fan related issue

Hope this helps resolve your issue.
