whenever I use google meet, my laptop over heats. I changed the resolution and also layout to spotlight as they were suggested. but again it gets super hot. what is the reason. My laptop is new.

I assume you have an HP laptop.  What is the model or produce ID?

 

If the graphics is built into your CPU then possibly the heat from the CPU core plus the heat from the graphics core is too high.  You have done all you can in google meet to reduce the graphics load.  Possibly the CPU is in turbo mode al the time.  Try setting the processor performance to %5 minimum and %99 maximum.in the power plan.

If you have a gaming type laptop then you probably have a separate graphics processor that has has its own fan.  That fan (if it exists) needs to spin faster.  What model or product ID?

 

[edit]  Just thought of something else.  Make sure your laptop is fully charged before starting the meet.  if the laptop has to charge the battery in addition to running the meet it may cause the laptop to overheat contributing to the problem.
