Hi @Martinnn1

Welcome to the HP Forum.

HP includes some screws for adding a 3.5 inch SATA HDD or a 2.5 inch SATA SSD drive.

You might also have some M.2 screws if some of the screws are very small.

Bill_  Thanks.  What is the advantage of replacing the hard drive ?

Hi @Martinnn1

My pleasure.

The screws can be used to add a second 3.5 inch SATA HDD or a second 2.5 inch SATA SSD as a data drive for more storage.

S01-PF2000i is a generic product number applicable to many different HP Slim Desktop PCs. But your PC probably has a M.2 NVME operating system drive. The M.2 drive installs directly on the MB.

An M.2 drive looks like a stick of gum but slightly larger.

So a 3.5" SATA HDD drive would be in addition the the M.2 ?

Would a 3.5" SATA HDD drive make my new PC "better" ?  :  How ?

How do I know which 3.5" SATA HDD drive to buy - via Google the prices range from £20 to £180.

Do they come with idiot proof Installation instructions ?

Is there a solid state version of a 3.5" SATA HDD drive ?

Thanks for all your advice.  Would it be easier to chat via email ?  I am at  <[Personal Information Removed]>

Hi @Martinnn1

Again, I can't say for sure your PC has an M.2 NVME SSD because S01-pF2000i refers to a series of HP PCs which may have different component configurations.

Adding a second storage drive does not make your PC better. Folks add more storage to a PC when it is needed or required.

No point adding a second storage drive if you don't need it.

I would add a 2.5 inch SATA SSD if you need more space. Installing a new drive in a PC is a fairly easy task. YouTube has many videos showing how to do this.

Check this You Tube video which may help if you decide to install a second HDD or SSD. The new drive should connect to the HP provided drive cage. HP includes one SATA power cable. You would have to buy a SATA data cable.
