Example: Pavilion HP ALL-IN-ONE
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP All-In-One Desktop shows "Error" Message "No Fan Detected" press FI.. When accessing information on this it always shows instructions for a Desktop with a PC. I do not have a "Stand Alone PC". My PC is built into my "Monitor".  I have a side door that opens but it is for "Disk" ! there is no opening that I can see to "Check Fans"..

Every website I access on this issue all show computers with "Stand Alone PC's.. Then the video's show how to take apart your PC and examine, clean, check, ETC. I can't do that with my Desktop!!!

I don't know if I have a Pavillion or Campaq..

@ToniK,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post you're getting "Fan not detected" error message on your HP Pavilion all in one PC. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the product number of your PC? Use this link to find it:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Have you tried to update the Bios on your PC?

What is the exact error message that you see on the computer screen?

This looks like a possible hardware failure, however, I would suggest you could try these steps here which should help you in resolving this issue.

Perform a Hard reset on the PC

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios on your PC, For more details, please follow this support document - HP Desktop PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)

Alternatively, I would suggest you follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Error: CPU Fan Failed (Though it's for regular Desktop PC, you can try these steps for your All in one PC).

Could you please respond to this post with the details and with the results of the troubleshooting as this will help me in further assisting you.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Thank you for the steps to fix this problem,  but I'm not cable of understanding all this. I'm a "Basic" computer User"
