ELITEDESK 800G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The computer came with 64 bits windows 7 with an HDD.

I now want to install a fresh windows 10 to a SSD wih fresh install.

When booted the usb, it doesn't give me te option to install, or even format the drive.

The only option is turn off the compuiter or this picture

IMG_20180418_070317.jpg

Which of course doesn't help as the SSD has nothing on it.

Why can't the computer be able to boot OS using the usb instead of going through this only option (picture).

You can install the latest Windows 10  version by using the following method.

You will need a 32GB flash drive. This can be done on a different PC.
Download the Windows 10 Media creation utility.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port, preferable USB 2.0.

Double click on the downloaded Windows 10 Media creation utility software file and follow the prompts.

Once the installation media has been created you can plug it into a USB port on your HP notebook. Press the power button and then immediately tap the F9 key for boot options. Select the USB flash drive and click on it.

When asked for the license you can select the option of putting the key in later. The activation key is located in the BIOS so the OS will activate on its own when you go online.

The drivers for Windows 10 (64-bit) are at the support portal for your notebook. I will provide a link to the download section of the support portal in a few minutes.

Sounds to me that you're booting of some sort of Windows 10 rescue USB?

You NEED to follow the instructions provided by erico to create a bootable Windows 10 Installation USB stick. Then, with the new blank SSD installed, boot off the Windows 10 USB you just created and follow the instructions. I've done this hundreds of times on different pc's and it works fine.

Cheers, Michael.

Sorry. Looks like I have problem login in this website.

Yeah its the mini version.

Looks like now it's working! thanks!

It was that usb windows that was a problem, not HP.

I have windows 10 x64 drivers for HP, however I read  windows 10 download the drivers automaticly. So no need to install any HP driver?
