Hello
i need the exact model of the pc with its product number P / N
There is for example this page
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-23-q100-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series-touch/8499724/...

2B42 is for 24-q0xx All-in-One series. But for some reason, there's only 2B43 & 2B44 listed.

Here's the link to the latest BIOS for 2B42.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80501-81000/

Scroll to sp80545.exe

It's BIOS version A0.07 for 2B42. Don't worry if your current version is 80.xx You can go to A0.xx with no probs.

you should not use a version without knowing more about the pc model and version in place
here it says :

TITLE: HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B42)

VERSION: A0.07 REV: A PASS: 1
DESCRIPTION:
This package provides an update to the HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS (ROM Family
2B42) for supported models running a supported operating system

HARDWARE PRODUCT MODEL(S):
HP Pavilion 23-q0xx All-in-One PC

if the system is not the same and / or the version is older it should not be installed since we are asking for an update, and not vice versa

As long as you have visually sighted that the board is 2B42, then you'll be fine to do what I said.

I wouldn't worry too much about the model per se. You see, even if you know the EXACT model (eg 23-q012), then you STILL NEED to determine if it's a 2B43 or 2B44 - This is the important bit. If you try to update the BIOS for a DIFFERENT SSID, then you will brick the mainboard. I've updated the BIOS on dozens of 2B42 boards, even from BIOS 80.xx to A0.07 with no issues at all.

Yes it helps to match your EXACT model with the CORRECT SSID, but it's not imperative, as long as you have the correct SSID and your model is in the right ball park.

Be careful what we say here, we are talking about bios, it is not a risk-free operation
the question here:
"Need to update BIOS for (ROM Family SSID 2B42)
I cant find this motherboard model "
We ask for the ubpdate, and not the reverse, we should absolutely know why this request is made!

If we look at this product page, we see that we are talking about a previous version

This is not an update to be taken lightly

that which is given in blind besides, does not correspond to the last maj either either if it is of this computer that it is question!
A0.07 sp80545.exe
The image is for information, do not touch anything until we know the model of the pc !!

Here's the link to your model:

https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-23-q100-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series-to...

There's no 2B42 there, but I know from fixing them that the 2B42 was in the same family.

Are you sure yours is 2B42? How did you determine the SSID?

Have you had the motherboard replaced in your unit at any point?

Here's a link to BIOS A0.11 for the 2B42:
