OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0024
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Computer got stuck in a select keyboard...troubleshoot screen on boot up.  Tried the repair option, said it could not repair.  It is 2 months out of warranty.  Took it to best buy where I bought it.  They tried to reinstall windows, it would not let them.  They thought it might be the 256 SSD drive so they tried a brand new one.  It would not let them.  They could not fix it.  Brought it home and took out SSD drive and tried to install windows (using USB) onto 1Tb HHD.  it gets to "Getting files ready for installation (XX%) and stops.  Not locked up as I can still use mouse.  I have tried multiple times and it stops at different %.  I have let it sit for hours including two overnights.

What am I doing wrong?

it is an OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0024

@ChristopherE22,

All right, let's figure this out.  I have a personal preference for visual tutorials, and this Youtube video does the job very well: HP Desktop Factory Restore Reset Windows (Envy Pavilion Slim EliteDesk Omen Compaq Slimline Prodesk)....

Try it, and see if it fixes your issue.

Kind Regards,
