HP All-in-One - 24-df0167c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Support Assistant indicates that there is an update available.  It is labeled, "HP Consumer Desktop PC Bios Update (Rom Family SSID 87A4)".  I can't find any information about this update on a google search and I am very concerned about agreeing to an unnecessary Bios update given the risk associated with any Bios update.

Does anyone know what this update is for and do I need to install it?

Thank you.

J

hi

24-df0167c Product Specifications

it seems to me that we have nothing from the product page
but we find an update from the serial page

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-all-in-one-pc-24-df0000i/37592630
the SSID matches
if it is this version:

HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 87A4)

F.31 Rev.A

Fix and enhancements:

- Provides support for Windows 11 21H1.
- Updates the code for the Intel 21Q1 security enhancement update.

nothing more here
I can't confirm whether or not to do it!
I am also unhappy with the bios update, it sometimes crashes the computer
above all, that we did not always have, the real corrections made

OK.  If I choose to not do this update at this time, is there a way to remove the "I" symbol that appears on the taskbar question mark icon for HP Support Assistant?

Sorry, I have a doubt, I seem to have already done so, but I don't remember how
so,  then i chose the radical option, namely to remove the icon from the taskbar
Just go to the options  ⚙️
more settings, uncheck show icon
