What sort of connector does the webcam have, when it connects to the HP motherboard?

If it is an "ordinary" USB-connector, try connecting it to a different USB socket on the computer, or try using an USB male-to-female extension-cord, to be able to connect: camera cable -> extension cable -> USB port on some other nearby computer.

Sorry for late reply, sounds to me like you installed the Windows GUI diags. This is the one you want (from the same page):

The file name should be sp111018.exe

When prompted, install it to the UEFI partition on the HDD (You can also make a bootable USB if you want, just run the installer again and choose USB this time)

Once in the diags, choose component tests, then webcam. If it's not in the list, then your PC isn't recognizing the webcam - Therefore this is a hardware fault / issue. Sounds to me like you've done all the TS possible without actually replacing the webcam. I've not heard or seen any issues with older HP AiO's updating to Windows 10 20H2.

Let me know the results of the UEFI diags, then we can go from there.

Bad news. The webcam is not shown as a component in the list of Component Tests in the UEFI diags.

When I go to the device manager now, I can see the webcam, but I am getting the error message, "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

This is a good sign that I can see the webcam in the device manager now, right? What's my next step?

@EthanPOK, so if it's NOT being seen in UEFI diags, then it's safe to assume that it's developed a hardware fault. Because you can see it in device manager, but reports 'not connected' then I'd say that the webcam and/or webcam cable aren't totally dead, but definitely aren't working as they should.

I don't know how they work/operate on a schematic level, but sounds like it's receiving power, but maybe not data or vice versa.

If the machine is no longer under warranty then you're cheapest option is to buy an external USB webcam.

It may or may not come good by itself, but even if it does, I'd say it'll die again sooner rather than later.

Sorry.
