In the monitor settings it says "current Mode: 720x576 50Hz" but also displays the 'Optimal Mode' as 1920x1080 60Hz while on my other monitor its resolution is the "correct" 1920x1080. The additional monitor I was already utilizing is 1920x1080 as well, so I am trying to figure out how to change the resolution on this monitor to be consistent. I have already tried looking in the display and advance display settings for the monitor and there is not an option to change it to 1920x1080, I have also tried factory resetting the monitor as well as looking into Updating/rolling back the drivers per another similar issue I found on this board. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @EmoryVV,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the display resolution on an HP monitor from the "Current Mode" of 720x576 50Hz to its "Optimal Mode," you can follow these steps. Please note that the exact steps may vary slightly depending on your specific HP monitor model and the operating system you are using. These instructions assume you are using a Windows operating system.

Access Display Settings:

  • Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
  • Select "Display settings" from the context menu that appears.

Change Resolution:

  • In the Display Settings window, scroll down to the "Display resolution" section.
  • Locate the dropdown menu under "Resolution." Click on it to expand the list of available resolutions.

Select Optimal Resolution:

  • Look for the resolution labeled as "Recommended" or "Optimal" for your HP monitor. This is the resolution that is generally considered best for your monitor's display.
  • Select this recommended resolution from the list.

Apply Changes:

  • After selecting the recommended resolution, click the "Apply" button.
  • Your screen may flicker for a moment as the new resolution is applied. You'll have about 15 seconds to confirm the change. If you don't confirm within that time, the settings will revert to the previous resolution.

Confirm the Change:

  • A pop-up message will appear asking if you want to keep the new resolution. Click "Keep changes" if the display looks good at the new resolution. If the display is not acceptable, you can click "Revert" to return to the previous resolution.

Adjust Other Display Settings (Optional):

  • If you need to make additional adjustments to the display settings, such as orientation or multiple displays, you can do so in the Display Settings window.

Close the Settings Window:

  • Once you're satisfied with the new resolution and any other display settings, you can close the Display Settings window.

Your HP monitor should now be set to its optimal resolution. Keep in mind that the availability of resolutions may vary depending on your graphics card and the capabilities of your monitor. If you can't find the optimal resolution in the list, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and that your monitor is correctly recognized by your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Alden,

Thank you for reaching out, unfortunately the optimal mode is not listed as an option in the display settings as I mentioned in my previous post. I have also looked in the adapter properties under 'List All Modes' but an acceptable resolution is also not available there. I have included snips of both windows for reference. Thank you for your help!
