HP ENVY Desktop - 700-430qe CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My hard drive (and a few other things) was going bad, so I bought a new one, and a SSD drive.  I am having a herd time installing windows on to it.  I have a Windows recovery/repair USB, but I am having a hard time getting into the right BIOS settings to get it to boot to the USB drives.  Need advice, please?

Hi:

Normally, you have the USB flash drive in a USB port.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately press/tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that, select the USB flash drive with W10 on it, and press the Enter key.

The PC should then boot from the W10 installer.

This is what comes up on screen, it only gives me an F1 option?

Figured it out, I think.  Had to do like you said , ESC, but F!, then F9.  Will let you know if I have any more issues.  Thank you very much.

You're very welcome.

There seems to be a problem with your PC's rear chassis fan.

If you have taken the PC apart recently, check to make sure the rear fan's wire is connected to the motherboard.

If you have not taken the PC apart, you will have to replace the fan.

Thanks for sharing this useful information here. It helps me a lot to renew window installation.

I learned a lot from it here , but I need more information about this. Can anyone help me?
