Create a bootable media (USB key or CD/DVD).
I almost always wipe whatever if on the existing HD (backing up data and documenting settings first of course) then booting to Win11 and perform a clean install. You will always have less headaches that way, but it takes more time.
FYI, I use RUFUS.ie to prepare the media. With RUFUS, you can install Window 11 on almost ANY PC. I've installed Win11 on a first generation Intel Core CPU (ie 14 years old). It will also work with 4G or ram. (better with 8G), but make sure you have a SSD which you should have already.
