Hello again. My sound is not working. Under sound, video and game controllers there are 2 listed: AMD HD Audio Device and IDT HD Audio Codec. Looks like it's defaulting to AMD. AMD driver is up to date but still no sound. When I try to update driver for IDT it states "it encountered an error, a device attached to the system is not functioning". Don't what that could be, everything is working fine. I tried downloading IDT original driver but when I try to run I get "This publisher has been blocked from running software on your machine". Shold I even be meesing with IDT? Not sure which should be used. Thanks.

wallywoo... I think you may have a conflict with either MS Trusted Publisher, UAC, or with your security program that is blocking the installation of the IDT program. When you try to add the codec, it isn't finding the program, so that is likely the problem there. Have a look here:
The below is an exerpt from a post on page 2. Try the following:

I had the same issue for a Hewlett-Packard driver dated 2011 (I got an old notebook). The driver download file was "sp52211.exe". I happen to know that all these exes usualy are self extracting archive files so.
After I unblocked the downloaded file using "Right-Click --> Properties --> check unblock --> apply" I opened it with an archive manager. I used "7zip" and extracted the contents to a temp folder in my desktop. Then I run the internal setup.exe and all went well. Hope this helps someone else. Don't blame MS people for an poor support coming from vendors.

I think you have an issue I have seen before with some software that won't install because the software is archived. Windows security updates have blocked this kind of installation to stop programs from installing that are bundled this way. I think 7-Zip will solve your problem with the above instructions. If this doesn't work, start with the instructions in the thread for disabling "Trusted Installer" in IE. After that, try turning off UAC to install the software, also. You can turn them back on once you are done.
Let me know how it goes.

All morning and finally fixed it. This is what did it, from a Redditt forum:
- Select IDT High Definition Audio CODEC on Device Manager.
- Select Driver tab.
- Click Update Driver... button.
- Select -> Browse my computer for driver software.
- Select -> Let me pickup a list of device drivers on my computer.
- Select High Definition Audio Device (Not IDT High Def... this is important.) and click Next. Appears Warning message, but reply Yes.
- ! Windows has successfully update your driver software.
Key is step 6.
Thanks again.

I have a p7-1280t desktop that needed a hard drive replacement. I replaced the hard drive and loaded Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. I can log in, but can't connect to the internet. I receive a message that "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver. I went to the HP download section and copied anything listed for a network or wireless connection. Some are for 64-bit and won't run, but I also get an error for sp58084.exe, sp55504.exe and sp56209.exe downloads. I receive the following message. "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been cancelled (9996)." Can you think of anything else I can try?
