Microsoft Windows 11

Just bought brand new  HP OMNIDESK desktop, model .M03-01551.. Using Windows 11.  Got it and went to switch out with old PC but didn't realize new pc only had HDMI video input.  Old  desktop was VGA.  Went and got VGA to HDMI cable.  No luck so broke down and bought new monitor with HDMI and  hooked it up.  I just have a black screen right now.  I know pc is working because it told me about an accessibility issue.   I could not follow what  it said.   I ...Probably screwed  something up when I was attempting  to use the VGA  to HDMI  cable.

Can anyone suggest what I can do to hook up the new PC.  Thanks

Greetings

You may have confirmed the new HP PC is working since you did see video at some point during system startup.

However, the on screen message encountered could have come from the monitor.

Most new monitors I have worked with will auto detect the correct input signal (HDMI or DP).

Shut down the PC. Turn off the monitor.

Restart the monitor and the PC to check for video.

Then access the monitor's setup software. You should be able to select the correct monitor input source.

It is possible the new HP PC has a problem if the monitor is set to the correct video input but there is no HP POST screen or operating system video output.

Regards
