I had just replaced its hard drive because it has always been saying "no boot disk detected or boot disk failed" and i put in the new one and it still says that. 

I've checked the BIOS and as far as i understand its all correct. 

I don't know what to do or what is wrong with it. Thats all i can get it to say except for the f1 f2 f10 f12 and those other things. 

Can i plz have help?

Hi:

 

If you just replaced the hard drive and it is recognized in the BIOS, the next thing you need to do is to reinstall the operating system, which makes the hard drive bootable and provides an operating system.

 

The product specs for your PC indicate that it originally came with W8 from HP.

 

W8 is not available for download.

 

So here is a way to create W8.1 installation media and you can install W8.1 by using the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

 

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

 

This is the generic key for W8.1 'Standard.'

When you get to the screen that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space. Click Next, and W8.1 should begin to install.

 

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

 

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

 

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.

 

Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

If you choose to create a bootable DVD, you will need to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot in order to boot from a DVD.

I have tried putting operating systems on DVD's. It ignores them. 

I've tried the cd that had came with the computer and a windows 10 one I'd made.

Did you change the above BIOS settings to boot from the DVD?  Enable legacy mode/Disable secure boot.

 

The way that usually works to get the PC to boot from a DVD is...with the DVD in the DVD drive, turn on or restart the PC.

 

Immediately tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.

 

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that, select the DVD drive and press the Enter key.

 

Watch the screen and it should present a message to 'Press any key to boot from DVD.'  Press any key.

 

If that doesn't work, then unfortunately I have no other suggestions to offer.

Your PC is not supported for 32 bit operating systems.

 

Make a bootable W10 USB flash drive or DVD using the media creation tool at the link below.

If you want to make a USB flash drive, it will do it automatically for you.  You need an 8 GB flash drive.

 

If you would rather make a bootable DVD, download the W10 64 bit ISO file instead and use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that will transfer the ISO file to a DVD so that it is bootable.

i am trying this at the moment but my "last" question is doe's it have to be a zip file?
