nothing works. I can change screens and it will register that I clicked on an app but nothing will open. Not even settings. A couple apps opened that open on start but they won’t interact.

Registry probably got corrupted.  Try (1) first then (2)

(1) Try running the system repair.

Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE to get the task manager to show up.  Then look for "run an app".  Enter CMD and put a check in the box to run as administrator.

Enterer the following to repair system files then reboot.l

sfc/scannow

(2)  if the above does not help then instead of entering "CMD" put in

msconfig.exe

It is not necessary to select admin mode

When the msconfig app comes up select safe boot

After the system boots into safe mode then enter "accounts" and add a local user with admin privledge

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account-in-windows-...

when asked for email or Microsoft account just skip or select unknown.

run "msconfig.exe" again and restore normal bootup.  Then reboot and ...

Log into the new account and see if system starts working ok.

Post back if a problem.
