I have tried all the F keys, Esc, and the UEFI access on Win 10 from Settings-Update and Recovery-Troubleshoot-Advanced. In every case, the desktop just boots to the win 10 desktop. I want to change the boot order to USB external drive so I can replace the spinning HD to an SSD. I have the Microsoft USB installation files and the license. No luck so far. Should I reset the CMOS? I also can install the SSD in a second bay, but don't know how to install Win 10 from the USB to the SSD. I have only ever used boot to USB in first order. Anyone have an idea on this issue? Thank you in advance

hi
did you modify something?
any idea, if it worked before, if there has been something new since?
if not access to the keyboard, the fact of not passing the advanced option, must indeed correct the problem
other than that, no problem?

Thank you for the reply, but this Envy 700-050 was left with me when I built a tower for the client. i just know it worked fine with its Windows 8.1 which must have been teh new product OS. I upgraded to Win10 Pro and that is the only change I have made. It does have a recovery partition but I haven't been able to access it. The keyboard and mouse are Logitch wireless and everything seems to work just fine as long as it is using the I Tb HD where Wibndows is. I have tried every known keyboard F key, Esc and Del. and have tried to use the UEFI access that is reachable from the current win10 Pro OS. My last resort is to try to reset the CMOS to default. I haven't tried to reset the PC to its original OS usiong tghe Recovery partitioin. Just wondering which of the two remaing ones I should try?

I do not know if there can be a resolution to access the bios after recovery, but if you have installed windows 10, then it is most certainly no longer usable!
