Can anyone please tell me what a 'ATA hp HLDS DVDRW GUD1N' driver is and how I would update it?  My Norton Antivirus says I update it or I might lose data.  Thanks!

That is the driver for the CD/DVD drive.  It is supplied by Windows/Microsoft and typically does not pose a problem.  For Norton to flag that seems odd.  Perhaps it was become corrupted.

Look in Device Manager for the drive to see if there are any updates available or delete the drive from Device Manager.  Reboot the PC after deleting the DVD/CD drive and Windows will reinstall the driver with the latest.

If that does not fix the error, it might be a problem that Norton support can solve.
