Numbers but no letters when typed on keyboard. Can't enter pin.

Brand new hp all in one 20. At first the numbers along the top did not work but the keyboard and numbers keypad did. So I set up. As I go back and try to enter my pin number after computer went to sleep, the numbers all work but the letters do not. I cannot enter my pin number to access settings. I've tried a different keyboard and the screen keyboard, but non will allow letters to appear. There is no num lock on the new keyboard, but on another keyboard I tried turning on and off the numbers lock did not help.
