OMEN 40L GT21-1304 Secure Boot Invalid Signature on BIOS F.20

I have an OMEN 40L Desktop GT21-1304 (8R3T0AA) with motherboard 8A98. I updated the BIOS to F.20, but I am unable to enable Secure Boot.

Windows is installed in UEFI/GPT mode. The Platform Key is enrolled and HP factory Secure Boot keys are loaded.

When I enable Secure Boot in BIOS, I get:

“Secure Boot Violation — Invalid signature detected. Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup.”

Windows Secure-Boot-Update is also failing with error 0x800706D9. WinCS configuration F33E0C8E002 is enabled.

Is BIOS F.20 supposed to support the 2023 Secure Boot certificates, and is there another HP firmware update or configuration needed to resolve this?

The HP 8A98 MB is an AMD B650 MB.

I have not previously encountered B650 MB Secure Boot problems in this Forum. Your PC is the first for me

The 8A98 MB should seamlessly update to the latest Windows 2023 Security certificate updates. And this MB should not have a TPM 2.0 version problem when playing certain games.

HP should be providing future BIOS support for your GT21-1304 (aka, GT21-1000a) PC.

Check your PC's Secure Boot status in: Windows Security>Device security>Secure boot.

I can't explain why your B650 MB is experiencing a "Secure Boot Violation" when EFI Secure Boot is enabled. This error is typically associated with PCs that have reached EOL. Your PC does not fall into this designation.

Try resetting the BIOS to defaults.

You might have to wait for a future BIOS update to correct this problem. Maybe BIOS version F.20 was complied incorrectly which introduced an unexpected bug not caught during regression testing.
