Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello!

I'm attempting to restore my HP Omen desktop, which stopped functioning after a windows update. I've attempted to hard reset it using the Windows Recovery Environment, as well as using the built-in HP program. The HP Recovery Manager ran for over an hour before stopping, saying Restoration Incomplete.

For some reason support won't let me upload an image currently, but the CTOERROR.flg notepad file that is popping up is saying something along the lines of

[C:\SYSTEM.SAV\ExitProc\ErrorChk\ChkError.cmd]

[PASS2_BBVClean][PIN_ERROR_MSG][ChkError.cmd] found [3] SW issue[s]....

[PASS2_BBVClean][PIN_ERROR_MSG][ChkError.cmd] Refer the following file[s] if exists to see detail.[PASS2_BBVClean][PASS2_BBVClean][PIN_ERROR_MSG][ChkError.cmd] C:\CTOERROR.flg, C:\System.sav\*FAILURE.flg, or C:\system.sav\Logs\AllFailure.log

It also mentions something about "The process will cause CTO panic because the image might not be normal now..."

When I restart the computer it boots up in administrator mode and proceeds directly to this screen. I'm met with the same result when I attempt to close the Recovery Manager window, as well as when I try to restart the process through the Recovery Manager window.

Please Advise!!!

Many thanks.

@ChessMastr31,

While I realize your frustrated, throwing around terms that you may not fully understand is a problem.

A "Restore Point" is an opportunity to go back in time to a point where the system worked.

A "Recovery" has 2 options, (1) re-install the OS without damage to the data files. It will remove your installed programs. (2) is the FULL Recovery option, it puts the computer back to "New Out of Box Experience".

1) You need to purchase an external SATA3 (600) to USB 3.0 external drive enclosure.

2) Remove the hard drive, and copy off any data files you can salvage.

3) Put the hard drive back, and work with the repair tools.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
