That could be a short-circuit in the power-supply, or something really bad on the motherboard.

Don't leave it "unattended", when powered-on and beeping.

Is it time to take the computer to a technician, for professional trouble-shooting?

I'll see what I can do about getting an identical ram stick, but is there any other troubleshooting method?

I understand that this could be a serious issue, but this problem has been happening since February and the computer runs just the same. And I want to keep troubleshooting if possible because sending it to hp would cost me money since there is no warranty. Along with that, I have sent it to hp for this issue back in March or May, and they returned it without fixing the issue.

You could assume that the RAM is good, and change the power-supply.

Of the above "part-swapping" options, changing the RAM is by far the easiest & cheapest to try.

If it is "out-of-warranty", then you can take it to any local technician -- you don't have to send it to HP.
