Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I called for hp support a couple of months ago and was told by the rep that I had some corrupted files and that I should reset back to factory. I completed the reset. I am disabled and dont use my computer as much as I use my phone and ipad. I received a message after finally going back to my computer  of C0000022, I did some troubleshooting to get back up and running but I Noticed that my os is windows 8.1, but when I purchased this computer,I took advantage of the free upgrade to windows 10. I'm thinkimg that the factory reset is the reason that my os is now showing up as windows 8.1. My question to the community, is there a way to correct this without having to pay for os 10?

Hi:

You are correct.  When you reset the PC using the recovery manager program, it goes back to the OS that was originally installed on the PC.

You can reinstall W10 for free since your PC was previously upgraded to W10.

You can reinstall W10 at the link below...click on the update now button.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

During the installation process, when you are asked to enter a product key, you select the 'I don't have a product key,' option and W10 will install and automatically reactivate once you are connected to the internet.
