Hi @Isaacsoka,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Omen desktop computer is experiencing a black screen with a visible cursor after going through the Omen loading screen, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Power cycle the computer: Disconnect the power cord from the computer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
- Check cable connections: Ensure that all cables, including the power cable, display cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, etc.), and any other peripherals, are securely connected to the appropriate ports on both the computer and the monitor.
- Boot into Safe Mode: Restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. This will bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, select "Safe Mode" and see if the computer boots into Safe Mode successfully. If it does, it indicates that there may be an issue with a driver or software causing the black screen.
- Update graphics drivers: If you manage to boot into Safe Mode or have a secondary computer available, visit the HP website or use a driver update utility to download and install the latest graphics drivers for your specific graphics card model. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause display issues.
- Run a malware scan: It's possible that malware or a virus may be causing the black screen issue. Use a reputable antivirus program to perform a thorough scan of your computer and remove any detected threats.
- System Restore or Startup Repair: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try performing a System Restore to a previous point in time when your computer was functioning properly. Alternatively, you can use the Startup Repair option from the Advanced Boot Options menu (accessed by pressing F8 during startup) to automatically diagnose and fix startup problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
