Hi @jobrien111

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP Omni desktop powered by AMD is experiencing freezing and restarting issues, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that all internal components like RAM, graphics card, and other peripherals are securely connected. Sometimes loose connections can cause system instability.

2. Update Drivers and BIOS: Make sure all device drivers, especially those for your graphics card and chipset, are updated. Additionally, check for any BIOS updates for your desktop model from the HP support website.

3. Performing HP and Windows Updates: System performance can decrease if the BIOS, software, applications, and drivers are outdated. Use Windows Update to install critical and optional software and driver updates. You can also check the AMD website for any driver updates specific to your model. 4. Run HP Support Assistant for Diagnostics: Use HP Support Assistant to identify and troubleshoot any underlying performance issue. It can provide a performance tune-up and fix any errors found.

  • In Windows, search for and open HP Support Assistant.
  • On the My devices tab, find your computer, click Troubleshooting and fixes > Performance Tune-up check. Wait while HP Support Assistant works, then close the tool when it finishes. Source: HP PCs - Improve Computer Game Performance

5. Check for Overheating: Ensure that your desktop is not overheating. Make sure dust does not obstruct any vents and the cooling fans are functioning properly.

6. Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes third-party applications can cause conflicts. Try booting the PC in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If not, you may need to identify and uninstall the conflicting application.

7. Scan for Malware: Run a full system scan using a reputable antivirus program to check for malware that could be causing the instability.

By following these steps, you can often identify the cause of the problem and potentially resolve it.
