Hi @PennyProud1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm really sorry your Omnibook Flip 5 isn’t powering on—it’s frustrating when there’s no response at all, especially after trying the basics.

Let’s walk through a few deeper steps to help revive it.

Try these steps to troubleshoot a no-power condition:

1. Perform a full power reset

This clears residual charge and resets the embedded controller.

  • Disconnect the charger
  • If the battery is removable, take it out
  • Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds
  • Reconnect the charger (without battery if removable)
  • Try powering on again

2. Use a different wall outlet and charger

Sometimes the issue is with the power source or adapter.

  • Plug the charger directly into a different wall socket
  • Avoid surge protectors or extension cords
  • If available, test with a compatible HP charger
  • Look for any LED indicator near the charging port

3. Check for signs of life

Even if the screen stays black, look for:

  • Fan spin
  • Keyboard backlight
  • Charging LED blink
  • Any sound or vibration

If none of these appear, the system may not be receiving power at all.

4. Inspect the charging port

Debris or damage can block power delivery.

  • Use a flashlight to inspect the port
  • Look for bent pins, dust, or corrosion
  • Clean gently with a dry brush or compressed air

5. Try powering with battery only (if removable)

If the battery is charged, it may bypass a faulty adapter.

  • Disconnect the charger
  • Insert the battery
  • Press the power button and wait 10 seconds

Let me know if you see any lights or hear any sounds after trying these steps. Once we confirm power delivery, we can guide further recovery steps to get your Omnibook Flip 5 back in action.
