Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p049, and I regularly run the HP Support Assistant to "Optimize Your Perfrormance". I've run it over the past 2 days and I get error messages.

Can anyone guide me as to what the issue is please?

@CanukBluj,

Yes, uninstall the HP Support Assistant.  As a matter of fact, you don't need the "Optimize your performance" tool from the HP Support Assistant anymore since you are using CCleaner.  I wouldn't trust the validity of the most recent red X's anyway. Btw, did you use CCleaner's "Registry" cleaning option?

@CanukBluj,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

Let's do this first:  type in cmd in your Windows search bar, right-click on the Command Prompt App, left-click on Run as administrator, and Yes to confirm.

Type in: sfc /scannow and enter.

This may take a while to complete.

Upon completion, copy/paste and enter:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This too will take a while to complete.  Perhaps even longer than the previous CMD command.

And lest I forget: consider using this most useful freeware utility program called "CCleaner", which will also assist in cleaning up and fixing unnecessary files and registry artifacts.  Download from here ("FREE"): Download CCleaner | Clean, optimize & tune up your PC, free!.

Try the "Optimize Your Performance" again.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@NonSequitur777

Thanks for responding. I ran the cmd program, no issues were found. I then ran the 'Image' command and it completed. I downloaded CCleaner and ran a Health Check, and followed the prompts.

Lastly I ran "Optimize your performance" and unfortunately the first 2 items were X red. It is still running the "Checking system files" but I anticipate X red again.

Should I delete the HP Support Assistant and reinstall? Thanks again,

I deleted and reinstalled HP Assistant and ran the "Optimize ....." program. Everything worked perfectly. Thank You. I will use CCleaner going forward, inc the "Registry" cleaning option (not done so yet).

Thanks again for your help.
