Envy 700-200z
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an ENVY 700-200z with AMD A10-6700 processor with Radeon HD Graphics.

The motherboard is 2AE0.  It is running Windows 10 64-bit.

I am trying to install a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti graphics card.

With the card installed in the PCI slot, and powered up, the PC does not boot up.

With the card removed, the PC boots up.

The card requires a minimum power of 300W, which I have on this PC.

I made sure the card is properly seated. I connected a spare 6-pin power on the motherboard to the graphics card.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Explain what you mean "I connected a spare 6-pin power on the motherboard to the graphics card."  There is no such power connector coming from the motherboard.

The shipped default HP OEM 300 watt PSU wouldn't have a spare 6 pin power connector.

I have a 460 Watt power supply, which meets the 300 W need of the card. My HP Envy 700-200z is a customized version with more power. It does have a 6-pin power connector that goes in nicely into the graphics card. Thanks.

A 460 watt PSU was not stated in your first post. :Surprise:

Thank you for the link. I followed the steps there. However, I found that the Secure Boot Configuration had already set 'Legacy Support' to 'Enabled', and 'Secure Boot' to 'Disable' as the article suggested.  I checked that the graphics card, GTX 750 Ti, is compatible with my motherboard.

Any other ideas, please?

Hi,

You are using a NVIDIA GTX 750TI x16 graphics card, right?

Remove the graphics card and check the x16 slot for damage.  Use a magnifying glass and a flashlight.

Try clearing the CMOS.  This is a recommended step from most if not all graphics card manufcturrs.

Yes, it is an NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti graphics card that goes into the PCI x16 slot on a Jasmine motheboard.

I did insect the slot for damage; could not readily see any damage.

I cleared the CMOS.

Still to no avail. I get a blank screen. I don't think the PC booted, because I entered gibberish and kept hitting the enter key, and heard no beeps or any indication that the PC has boted.

I contacted the seller of the card. Waiting to hear back.

Any further ideas?

Thanks.
