My PC has been frequently crashing and showing the blue screen of death. my ram and hard drive are in good working condition and I think my PSU is the problem whether from not having enough power for my PC with a gt 1030 GPU or it's just faulty. I'm stuck on wondering if I should buy a new PSU but with more watts but with a adapter to make it compatible with the motherboard or if it's faulty just get a new replacement PSU with only the 240 available watts and asking which is more likely to be the problem and wondering if the GPU would use enough watts to keep repetitively crashing the pc before it boots up windows most of the time or if it doesn't use enough to do that and I just need a replacement PSU.

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Your GT 1030 has only a 30-watt TDP, so your stock 240-watt power supply should have no problem whatsoever powering it.
If you are convinced that your power supply is faulty, replacing it won't break the bank: you can purchase a 240-watt replacement power supply for under $16, such as via this eBay Seller: HP Elite 8000 8100 8200 8300 Pro 6000 6005 6200 SFF Power Supply 240W | eBay.
