Hi @cryptedmods,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Monitor Connection:
- Ensure that the monitor is properly connected to the PC and powered on. Double-check that the display cable is securely connected to the correct port on both the monitor and the PC.
Inspect Video Card:
- If your desktop has a dedicated graphics card, ensure it is properly seated in its slot. You may want to remove and reinsert it to verify the connection is secure.
Test with Another Monitor or Cable:
- Use a different monitor or cable to rule out faults with the existing monitor or cables.
Check Keyboard and Mouse:
- Disconnect and reconnect peripherals. Try connecting them to different USB ports. Attempt using another keyboard or mouse to see if they are recognized.
Clear CMOS:
- Reset BIOS settings by clearing the CMOS. This is usually done by removing and reinserting the CMOS battery. This can help resolve hardware configuration errors.
RAM Check:
- Ensure RAM modules are properly seated in their slots. You might want to remove and reinsert them or try booting with each module individually to check if one of them is faulty.
Hard Drive and Power:
- Verify that the hard drive and power connections are secure. A disconnected or loose hard drive could prevent the computer from booting properly.
Boot in Safe Mode:
- If possible, try booting the computer in safe mode to see if any changes in settings or updates have caused the problem.
Look for Error Codes or Beep Sounds:
- During startup, observe any beep sounds or error codes that might indicate a specific hardware issue. Consult the HP support document for interpreting these codes and sounds.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the desktop's interior for any signs of damage that might affect hardware operation.
I hope this helps.
