HP Recommended

My PC is stuck in Firmware Update. Message on screen says: Firmware update in Progress - do not power off or disconnect the device. It's been like this since about midnight or 1 AM this morning. It's now almost 7 PM. Should I just wait? Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you.

This is a serious problem that may require service.

 

What is the exact printer model?

 

How did this happen?  Did the HP support assistant request a firmware update? 

Did Windows do the update?

 

 

  • Unplug printer from the wall outlet.
  • If the power cord has a transformer (wall wart) unplug from the printer also.
  • Press the power button 2-3 times to discharge residual electricity.
  • Wait 60 second then plug back in and turn on.
