HP EliteDesk 800 G2 TWR
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My HP EliteDesk 800 G2 TWR has been running W7 Pro for a long time and now I'm installing W 8.1.

Everything has been all right along the installation process but the drivers for the PCI Serial Port and PCI Simple Communications are missing and i really don't know where I can find them.

You know: Yellow triangle onto device manager

Is there anybody out there who may point me in the right direction?

Grateful and thanks in advance.

Chalie

You're very welcome, Charlie:

Sometimes the driver for the PCI serial port doesn't automatically install along with the Intel management engine interface driver.

So what you need to do is to manually install the driver for the PCI serial port as follows...

Go to the device manager.  Click on the PCI serial port needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp111010.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked, and the driver will install.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file within the above folder that shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted...

Hi, Charlie:

You need this driver which should install both devices...

This package provides the Intel Management Engine Components Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

Thank you very much Paul for your response

I have installed your suggestion sp111010.exe (driver to support the Intel Active Management Technology) and the 50% of the problem is solved as now the only driver missing is for the PCI serial port as shown in the attached picture (taken with my cellular).

PCI serial port missing.jpg

At the same time I took the hardware IDs of this PCI serial port just in case:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13D&SUBSYS_8053103C&REV_31
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13D&SUBSYS_8053103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13D&CC_070002
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A13D&CC_0700

THis PC was originally running with Windows 10 and I installed Windows 7 Pro some time ago. I remember I found then some similar issue and I have been recovering some notes I wrote. So and on Windows 7 I had to install the Intel AMT (sp93388.exe) and got exactly the same issue than now with the two missing drivers. This issue was solved applying the sp59684.exe.

I try now to install sp59684.exe on Windows 8.1 but the installation fails.

I will continue working on it, maybe looking for some clue thanks to the hardware IDs. Any suggestion is always welcome.

Many thanks again.

Cheers

Charlie
