You're very welcome.
Mine are maxed out.
i7-2600 quad core processors.
32 GB of PC3-10600 memory (4 x 8 GB is the max).
I have an AMD Radeon HD 6570 in one CMT, and a nvidia GT 730 in the other.
One has a Blue ray drive and the other a DVD+-RW
I put 240 GB SSD's in both of them. They originally came with 1 TB hard drives.
$180 was a good price. No one in their right mind would buy one today for $1400!
Probably $230 - $250 for a used one with 4 GB of memory, a 1 TB HDD and the i7-2600.
Here is the link to the quickspecs...should tell you everything you want to know...

I have another question. With the propriatary setup on this computer how would I get a better power supply? I am thinking at least around 500. The PSU I have right now is only a 320 and I need a min of 400. I read that getting a new one is a real P.I.A.. I hope not.

You're very welcome.
Use this handy power supply calculator to see how you come in.
The basic tab should suffice.

Remember that most video card manufacturers overstate the P/S requirements for their cards, so as to not be swamped with complaints that their cards blew out the customers power supplies. Can you blame them?
For example...the AMD Radeon HD 6570 is one of the optional cards offered by HP in the 8200 Elite MT and CMT.
That card draws a max of 60W, and AMD states the minimum P/S requirement is 400W. So, if 400W was a hard and fast rule, it would make no sense that HP would put those cards in their PC's that only have 320W P/S.
Otherwise they would be swamped with warranty claims if the cards blew out the P/S's, which they don't.

I am getting conflicting reports so figured I would ask you. Can my HP 8200 Eilte CMT PC use a WD HDD or SSD? Also a 3rd party DVD r/w ( I think it is a sony)? _I know propriatary systems are very finiky so figure it is better safe than sorry time. (LOL)_ OH about the video card. I am having screen flikering going on. Could it be over taxing the power supply?

Hi:
I don't see any reason why you can't install any hard drive or ssd you want. Same goes for the DVD.
I installed an Intel 740 SATA III SSD in my 8200 Elite CMT and it works just fine.
I have an older 8000 Elite CMT and I put a Sandisk SATA III SSD in that one and it works fine.
Regarding the graphics issue. All I can say is I never had a problem with the 6570 I put in mine. No flckering, no nothing.
I did have a problem with a Radeon HD 6670 in my other 8200 Elite. It didn't flicker per se. Only when you closed the internet explorer browser-it kind of flashed. However for some unknown reason, the pcie slot the card plugged into went bad and I had to replace the motherboard.
Since I didn't know if it was the card that caused the slot problem or not, I replaced the motherboard (got a used one on eBay for $25.00) and put a Nvidia GT 730 in place of the HD 6670. It uses less wattage and no problems observed as of yet. It's been installed for a few months now.
But as far as a SSD or DVD drive, you should be able to install whatever you want.

I was looking at your maxed out specs on the CMT. One thing I never asked was the graphics card is it a 1gb or the rare 2gb? Also maybe this should be in a different area, but I am referring to what you have here so I will go ahead and ask. Does this maxed out graphics card give you screen flashes? I have been having this problem a bit. Also If you would tell me about the i7-2600 you used I want to up grade from the i5-2500.
